For the past 15 years, Steven has been a dedicated educator in the School District of Philadelphia, teaching a range of subjects including Algebra, Geometry, and Personal Finance. Driven by a passion for preparing students for post-graduate life, he spearheaded a Personal Finance course at Northeast High School. Beyond the classroom, Steven is deeply involved in community financial literacy. He helped lead an Adult Financial Empowerment series with PFS, teaching parents how to improve their financial literacy and encouraging financial discussions at home. He also mentored 30 recent graduates in a competitive summer internship program with PFS, providing them with essential skills as professionals in the corporate world while connecting them with companies across Philadelphia. Steven holds a BS in Applied Mathematics from Shippensburg University and a Master's in Urban Education from Eastern University. He is a Senior Career Teacher with certifications in Math and Health. In addition to his teaching career, Steven has coached boys' basketball at Northeast for 10 seasons and has nearly 24 years of service in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. With a unique blend of experiences from his multiple careers and life lessons, Steven delivers engaging lessons and guides students toward successful futures. He firmly believes that financial literacy can change the trajectory and improve the quality of life for young people.
