Carl is an educator with experience teaching high school mathematics, personal finance, and entrepreneurship. He has worked in public, charter, and independent school settings. He has led residential dormitories and taught seminars to help students transition from high school to college. He has also led Philadelphia Financial Scholars’ Adult Financial Empowerment series, equipping community members with essential knowledge to make confident financial decisions. He is currently a math teacher at a charter school in Philadelphia, and has been a licensed minister for over 20 years. Carl’s academic journey reflects both depth and breadth: he holds a BA and MA in Communication Studies from West Chester University and an MBA from the Kogod School of Business at American University. He completed the Graduate Alternate Route Certification Program offered by the Relay Graduate School of Education to earn Pennsylvania certification in secondary mathematics. He has also completed doctoral coursework in Higher Education and Organizational Leadership. Drawing on his combined training in education, business, and communication, Carl designs engaging, relevant learning experiences that prepare students for success beyond the classroom. He believes that financial literacy and entrepreneurial thinking are essential tools for building thriving individuals, families, and communities, and is committed to making these opportunities accessible to all students.
